What you think I should do for lighting? Think tank will literally be ONLY sps, nothing else. Aquascape will be a bonsai inspired scape with the goal of packing as much sps in as I can.
Tank Dimensions are 48L x 30W x 24T

I'm torn between 3 options. I currently have two XR30 Gen 3 Pros on my tank.

1. Buy an additional radion xr30, either get a new one or a used one. Will be like 400-900 bucks depending on what I get. It would also mean probably upgrading the two older units so total cost around 3k.

2. Do something silly like 2x 250w halide fixtures. Relatively cheap around 1k for this setup. I would also need to build some sort of floating canopy as I would like to keep the open top rimless look.

3. Go with two 4 foot reefbreeders led fixtures mounted next to each other and higher up, would look nice above the tank and would give me tons of even coverage. Cost on that is 1300.

I like option 3. I have reefbreeders over my frag tank and Battlecorals uses them on his tanks. No need for two though, you could do 1 and then add a light bar on each side. I'm sure that's what the guys at reefbreeders would recommend.

I would suggest going with LED lighting. If Adam at Battlecorals uses Reef Breeders, it has to be a more than viable option.

Nice tank - with two XR30's, and the idea you have for the bonsai thing.... I think you can even get away with just using those two lights mounted centered to the bonsai rock work you end up doing. primary focus will be on the area you position it so the intensity will be plenty for the SPS. anything spill over will light the other ends of the tank where intensity will not be needed as much -

just my two cents to save you some extra $ in buying lights :P
