I had a post earlier that talked about what kind of lighting everyone suggested for a SPS dominated tank. After taking in consideration what everyone said and the research I did I am leaning towards LEDS. My Tank is going to be a 250 Deep 60x36x27. I plan to go with Radion XR30w Pro's and have them about 8-9' from the water. So I have a couple of questions. If I get 4 will that be enough for a sps dominated tank? Would I need to buy wide lens or do the pros already come with it? My rock work will probably leave about 10' from the front of the glass to the rock. The tank will have one center brace to it.

Thank you for your help

I guess if you don't plan on having coral in the front 10" of the tank, you should get decent coverage, but I would think three gen 3 pro's would work.
I believe you have to order the wide angle lens specifically.

I have my 75g(48"X18"X21") Sps dominant tank lit with 2 Gen 3 pro's and 2 54w T5's.
Wide angle lenses will drop the par a good amount in a deeper tank like that so if I was you I'd stick to the stock Tir lenses and supplement with T5's. They'll fill in the gaps and also helps all around coral color and growth imo. You could easily light the tank with just the 4 Radion Pro's though if you wanted to. Especially with 1 center brace and the Radions running sideways. I just love the T5's with it.

Pros will work, even 3 should be ok but know you won't get coverage in the back and front glass. Expect 20 inches of solid coverage per led

That's ^^why I said run 4 Pro's sideways. With a 6' tank 2 pro's every 3' should be plenty running perpendicular.

Add in a 24" T5 in between every one and you should be golden. Or you could run the pros normal and add 2-4 60" T5's.

Yeah sounds like the best bet would be to run a 4 bulb ATI t5 light across the middle and put the radions on both sides of it.

If you're serious about doing SPS dominant I would do 6 radions and adding another 6 t5 would just set it off!

I have 4 units on my 52" tank and yes it's probably overkill but I noticed a difference when I went from 3-4.

Trouble with your tank is the front to back depth.

I would do 2 tubes of t5 on the outsides and center, with the radions long way in between. 2 rows of 3.

Obviously if you want to do islands or not wall to wall acros you can reduce the fixtures to suit your needs and aquascape....

I have 4 gen3pros over a 250dd with the regular lenses. I couldnt be happier. SPS are growing well all over the tank

The 6 radions with 3 t5's is a bit out of my budget. I am hoping 4 radions with 4bulb t5 will be enough
