I'm building a new stand out of wood 6 ft long 4 ft tall 30 inches wide was wondering what type of Fasteners to use besides screws if I should use any angle brackets or metal reinforcement if any of you have built your own stand give me some ideas please they will be very helpful[emoji4]

The strength of your joint will come from the glue, your fasteners (screws) simply hold the materials together while the glue sets. The screws do not do much for strength.

I always drill pilots and countersink for the screws. Screw your project together dry checking for square as you build. Once complete and satisfied you’ll disassemble, glue and screw.

I like west systems two part epoxy mixed with wood flour to a peanut butter consistency for glue. Done right, the joint will be stronger than the timbers themselves.

Hope that helps

Yes that does ...what about router joints and biscuits

If you have the tools and know-how, absolutely. As long as the stand is designed properly, and you use the right material (lumber and glue) it would be just fine.

Have you seen the diagram with the different colors for each type of support, the strength is the weight goes to the floor. So joining the wood plumb 90% and parallel are the upmost importance. I like pocket screws and glue, Ive built at least 4 stands.

Another thing I like to use in manufactures wood, it looks like tooth picks glued together 2 x 4" and for the 6" plywood is glued together, I have not found these to warp like most 2 x 4"
