My bicolor blennie has a new pastime. He pops these bad boys off the tank and they end up getting pureed in the vortechs. I have a feeling I'm going to be purchasing a few hariquen shrimp soon.

Have you bought harlequin shrimp for asterina starfish before? I was my understanding that once the shrimp eats all the starfish it will more than likely starve to death... Has anyone had luck getting them to take other foods?

No
You have to buy starfish for them. Most people use the chocolate chip starfish to feed them.

Untrustworthy asterina Star that will either eat algae or zoa. Not welcomed in any of my tanks

No I have not and I am reluctant to. I would estimate I have about 25 at this time in the tank. The blenny started this behavior today and I personally witnessed 3 of them being pulverized. Each tiny chunk of meat can potentially spawn a new starfish. If I notice an influx over the next few months, I will borrow one from my LFS like I borrow a sea hare every 6 months or so.

asterina starfish.
if you aren't going to buy a harlequin shrimp, I advise taking it out. they multiply quickly.
Not wanted imo.
Just pulled out 10 from my 120 this morning.
Down to 10 a week now.
Pulled out over 200 in the last 2 months.
Should have started when I first saw them.
Oh well live and learn.
Did I say pull it out!

That is a smart solution! I had a customer add one to their tank and once the starfish were gone it just wasted away, I was never able to get it to eat anything else.
