new starter

Hi all, well I actually got round to putting my rocks in this weekend was meant to do it last week but got sidetracked, so they have spent 24 hours so far and I've just done an ammonia test and it's came out off the scale it's a dark emerald green colour, I am in the process of making up more water but I only have 6 25 liter containers and they are all empty now. So untill later today I won't be able to change the water, I'd rather not add salt to all my barrels I was hoping I can add the salt to the water butt directly but I'm not sure if it's going to dissolve probably with all the rocks in there?

Well it's started, I've had to do a few water changes to get my ammonia down it's now between 2-4ppm and my nitrite has started probably about 0.25-0.50, my salt level is a little low at 30ppt should I raise it up to 35?

I run mine at 34.6. I think low salinity decreases growth but I'm not 100%

Thank I'll probably just top.it up a bit tomorrow, should i dose with ammonia when my levels hit 0 as I'm not putting them in a tank anytime soon and don't want them to die off again, I'm just going to have to have rocks in a bucket without light for a few months

Well I have about 0.25 ammonia, 2-5 nitrite and 10-20 nitrate should I leave this for another few days or do another water change?
