New Sump

I about to buy or have a custom made sump made for my 600 DT, have a 8 footer but wasn't built for optimum filtration. My question is should I have a trickle Filter for first stage or should it be after my 7" sock stage and 4" stock stage. Tank is for fish only so any suggestions on stages I should have please advise. Have had a few opinions reference glass vs. acrylic?

Will the sump be under the stand or remote?

If you want both, a sock with a medium micron to catch the bigger debris would be ideal. Just make sure its all convenient to chnage your socks/tray media otherwise maintenance will be more of a pain than it should be.
