So have a question.

we’re downsizing our house and hopefully up sizing tank...haha

Right now running about a 190 gallon system, want to double that I think.

I‘m leaning towards selling off existing stock, fish, rock, coral etc and starting from scratch. There’s nothing in there now that can’t be easily replaced.

Ii have all the filtration equipment, I sized it with the plan to up size. Just have to find a house and from there determine size of tank.

Thoughts?

To my eye that doesn't look like 190g tank. Or are you adding in the sump/refugium?

So how big do you want the new tank to be? Do you plan to buy a stock tank, or make (or have made) a custom tank?

Your plan for selling off livestock is certainly OK. I took 2 months after tearing down a 40g tank full of livestock to get the new 90g tank set up. I had home re-plumbing issues and then wall repairs and painting to do in between the tear down and the new set up. Some of my livestock didn't do well. So selling now, then getting set up in a new house only having to move equipment makes perfect sense to me.

Deceptive isn’t it?

The tank is a 30x30x30 cube, about 115 gallons. Have two large sumps in the basement making up filtration.

I’ll have a tank made. Thinking a lagoon peninsula 36 wide, at least 48 long and no taller than 24”

Yes it is! Although saying it's a 115g would have been easier to believe. ;)

The new tank sounds very interesting. I had a 48x24x14 tank for many years and loved it. If I were considering your new build, I'd keep it at 20" tall... maybe even less. But that's just me. Do you plan for the tank to be more of a look down into it from above or will it be up high and still a look in through the glass kind of tank?
