Well. If our guesses and my past exp with this fish are right, he will get huge fast in your tank and will be the dominate alpha. I had to trade mine coz he was just a bully in my 180g after a few months.

Well if that's the case then I need to get rid of him soon. Online info said he's the biggest tang in the Acanthus family
I was cheated once too. If your LFS or the whole sale isn't careful, mistake can easily be made in either way at the juvi stage. I bought a fish that looked just like yours and it turned out to be

Ironically, the current duss that I have wasn't sold as duss but something different at a lower price, so I grabbed him immediately.
Sorry for your bad luck Jason, seems this isn't the first time a vendor has sold a hobbyist the wrong tang instead of a dussemeiri. Eric, is there any way you can paste and copy your build thread here to R2R? I'd love to see it as I'm sure others would as well.

Wow....so you paid good money for a specific fish, the seller admittedly said he "sent the wrong fish", and now says he wants you to pay $100 for him to send the correct fish you ordered. That's pretty awful, a good (and reasonable) business would apologize, send out your fish that you have already paid for and suck up the cost as it was their mistake....the least they should do is request a regular shipping charge (not $100! What is the extra money for? For the wrong fish they sent you??) OR they should refund you your money (maybe minus the shipping charge but that's also a jerk move bc they messed it up). That really sucks. I understand that both fish look similar but it sounds like they told you that they just shipped wrong fish so their mistake....they should make it right. Glad you posted the vendor so people can see this and see if it is made right. Good luckWell that pic was taken 24 hours after shipping. He's actively swimming around and eating like pig so I don't think he's tress out. Today the color is the same. The body is dull gray with absolutely no stripe/penciled lines. The key is it's missing that caudal white spine. I'm not sure what kinda tang it is but I know it's not a Dessumeri tang. The seller wants me to pay another $100 to ship me the correct fish after he admitted that he sent the wrong fish! I've filed a dispute with Paypal and see what they can do for me. I mean if it's the wrong fish but if it looks at least decent then maybe I can work with it but this one is the least attractive tang I've ever seen.
