Hi all,

I posted my aquascape in a thread about six weeks ago. Since then, I’ve filled the tank, added doctor Tim’s and threw in food for about a month before adding two clownfish and a handful of snails. The ammonia and nitrite presently are zero, and the nitrate is around 1-2ppm consistently, so I’m thinking the tank is basically cycled? The clownfish and critters have been in the tank two weeks; I’ve been doing regular water changes, and all seems fine, but I don’t want to rush anything—either adding coral or other fish. Any thoughts on good timing?

I was thinking this might be an okay time to set up a 10g quarantine tank for any new fish. Does that sound right? Should any inverts (I was thinking of trying to get a shrimp/goby pair going) also be quarantined?

Thanks for your thoughts!

Yes I would recommend QT any new fish, does not have to be forever.
I use the 36 hr -TTM method. With prazi pro.

I usually wait 2-3 weeks in between adding new livestock to tank to allow beneficial bacteria to catch up to handle the new bioload.
