I have a 75 gallon with 40 gallon fuge has been running for roughly 5 weeks now. My tank cyed after about 3 weeks and parameters are as follows:
pH 8.2
Salinity 1.026
Temp 79°
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 20.
I have a RO/DI set up that I used to fill the tank with. I have roughly 50 pounds of reef saver rock and about 15 pounds of live rock I used to seed. I used dry argonite and have about a 1/2" sand bed. It went through a diatom bloom which is pretty much completely gone now. My question is now that the diatom has stopped I am having green hair algae starting to grow. It's not out of control yet but I know how hard this stuff can be to get rid of. Any suggestions?

You missed one big key water parameter test, Phosphate. You get rid of the phosphate, and you get rid of the hair algae.

The fuge will start to clean it up for you. (PO) Keep an eye down there. If you not seeing good growth there add a light.. 32k + 56k full spectrum always works for me. But intensity counts.
IMO stay away from the gfo for now as it'll stunt the fuge growth.

I just ran out an got a phosphate test and checked my water. It is at 0 so it's not phosphate. I do run a Buildmyled Fuge led. Guess I just need to be patient lol ugly stuff

Yes after the diatom stage it is not uncommon to get GHA. Tank is still cycling which is evident from the natrates present. You most likely have not built up anerobic bacteria yet to consume nitrates and that's why the algae is there. In time this to will pass. New tank uglys suck but it has to run its course. You can help it by removing the GHA by hand and leaving your lights off on the display. Try getting a clean up crew and some macro for the sump. From there you should be good to go. GHA is a pain but can be managed pretty easy. Especially once the tank settles
