Last week, we were lucky to be given this tank by a local reefer who had a family emergency come up and was going to be unable to care for the tank while out of the country. So Dec, 16th we drove out to the guys house, broke down the tank and reassembled it here at our shop. It's a 220 gallon tank.

Here is a shot after we got the live rock/corals back in the water. You can see that they are covered with hair algae, although if we hadn't cleaned the glass, you wouldn't be seeing much.

Here is a shot of the tank after a little bit of gentle scrubbing and getting it fully running.

So here's the tank this morning. We've done a 100 gallon water change, and the nitrates are now down to 160. So we're getting ready to do another 100 gallon water change this morning. Sadly we decided to take the tangs to a local fish store for them to try to rehabilitate them. They weren't doing to well, they had some lateral. So hoping they can get better over there and then come back.

This morning we installed the timers for lights (just in time for the holiday break). Yesterday, we finally installed the GFO and carbon reactors to further improve water quality.

Looking forward to seeing it mature in your hands Aqua Fx! Great products and even better service! Lucky to have you guys in our backyard.

Time for an update. Our nitrates and phosphates are at 0 finally. We're currently working on getting rid of the hair algae. This will probably take some time. However, since the last post we have changed the light bulbs, our fish have returned from the LFS. They are doing much better, and eating now. Currently in the tank we have 3 pajama cardinals, 1 algae blenny, 1 hippo tang, 1 naso tang, 1 tamine tang, 4 clown fish, a sea hare, a flying sea hare, and a horse shoe crab.
This morning our flying sea hare started laying eggs:
