hello all, i'm not new to the hobby but i am new to the nano tanks, i got offered a pretty darn good deal on a new red sea max nano that i could not pass. anyways i have been having like idk if it is a problem or just a new tank syndrome, it has been 4 weeks today and my ammonia doesn't wanna go down from 2ppm and the fishy think is that i have nitrates but never had nitrites, at least not on my tests, is this normal?? i know that when it goes down to zero and nitrites show and then nitrates i should add ammonia to 2ppm and wait 24hrs, and if in that time it goes down to zero the tank is cycled. also i wanna add that the water is cloudy for the 2nd time in those 4 weeks, i dose microbacter7 to kick off cycle and use dry rock and sand. any advice on what to do would be appreciate it since i'm kind of lost on this one. thank you

Let it be. If you're having cloudy tank AKA bacterial bloom things are still sorting themselves out. Dosing microbacter7 is never a bad plan. Time will help.

thank you, should i stop dosing the bacteria? i think i have dose enough for this size of tank.

You can't overdose good bacteria. in biology it's what we call carrying capacity. The bacteria will only survive as long as they have a sufficient food source. Given time things will sort themselves out for your particular tank. I wouldn't go so far as to say go out and buy more bacteria in a bottle, but if you have it, feel free to use it

thanks a lot for your advice, i will just give time to the tank.

There's a very old adage in this hobby. Nothing good happens fast.
sometimes taking a step back and letting things sort themselves out is the best answer

i agree, i was just kind of curious since my biggest tank took a lot less time to cycle. thank you
