okay well im going to set up my small 10 gallon in my room and plan to just make it a reef with a couple fish!i know a guy thats going to give me sand and rock from his tank for my tank. his tank has been set up for 10 years. how long should i wait to start to add coral and fish for it to cycle if its already been in a tank for 10 years! thanks in advancce and happy 4th:usa2::usa2::usa2::usa2::usa2::usa2::usa2::usa2:

It shouldn't take to long if at all. If it were me, I would just run it for a week or so and check levels of ammonia, nitrite and nitrate everyday just to make sure. It may never have to cycle since it's coming from an established tank. If your showing anything but nitrate just wait till the ammonia and nitrite goes away and you will be good to go.

Ok cool! Thanks! I've always been team t5 to but I'm going to try it leds on this tank
