My tank has been up and running for about 6mo now. I travel a lot so I use an auto feeder and I think because of that I’ve been over feeding which cause some Dino’s to pop up.

I have a refugium and I have auto water changes setup so my nitrates and phosphates stay in range, see below....or close to.

So here’s a question about treatment. While I’m away on this trip for four days I’m doing lights out treatment. When I get back I’m wondering if I could add h2o2 to my AWC tank for dosing h2o2? The fresh salt water tank is about 25 gallons and I’m changing about 3/4 gallon per day, total volume of display tank + sump + frag tank is about 100 gallons.

Current Parameters (Hanna for all except Nitrates - RedSea)
Alk 9.0
Calc 487
Nitr 4.9
Phos .02

I absolutely would NOT do anything to water chemistry just before leaving home for 4 days. What if stuff starts having problems while you are gone? Who is going to catch it? Who is going to be there to do anything about it (like a water change)?

Never said I was doing anything other than lights out while I’m gone. I’m just research for when I get back.

Can you post a picture of the tank? I don't think overfeeding should cause dinos.

Would overfeeding corals do it? I use yeast and reefroids, I was doing it everyday for about 4 days straight..

Not sure what else would cause it?

unfortunately I can't get a picture at the moment as I'm out of town for work.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
