New tank Dinos - what else should I do?

I have a new 65 gallon tank, I had a smaller system for 4 years. I'm 5 weeks in, first animals (2 small clowns, 2 nassarius, 2 hermits) went in last week. Water parameters test fine, nitrate is 6 ppm trending down and phosphate is 0.05 ppm. Ugly phase started the day after animals went in. I've got a significant bloom of what I believe to be Dinos and very cloudy water. I'm thinking of putting carbon in the sump and an inexpensive temporary UV filter to try to clear up the cloudy water. I don't have any corals, so keeping lights out is not a problem either.

I know that I have to go through this phase, but I'm looking to do what I can to help speed up the process. Any other suggestions on things to do?

You look like you've got a good strategy. Shame you've got them without zero nutes.

Isnt cloudy water more of a bacterial bloom as opposed to dinos? I have had dinos a couple of times and water was still generally clear. Cloudy water and bacterial is a 'quick' fix with a UV sterilizer.

you sure its not cyano? high nutrients can lead to cyano and bac blooms

normal, but the nuisance stuff could be "eating" it and making it seem lower.

It’s about ideal. I don’t think you have Dinos at five weeks, I’m guessing it’s either diatoms, GHA, or cyano bacteria (or a combination). Can you post pictures of it?

No matter what it is, if it disappears at night theres a good chance UV will help out
