I've got a new 75G tank nearing the end of it cycle and I am almost ready to add fish. These are the fish I selected and the order I am going to add them. Does anyone see a problem, beside the ones I mention, or have any suggestions.

Two Spot Goby, I know it’s hard to feed. I plan on putting food on the sand for him to “find”. Later while feeding the other fish spread some food for him on the sand.

3 Green Chromis I’ve heard some are OK in a group and some are not. Give it a try.

Royal Gamma Basslet.

3 Similar Damselfish. Will these be a problem with the Chromis, or is it possible they will get along?

Orchid Dottyback

Flame Angel watch out for him nipping coral. Some do some don’t.

Kole Yellow Eyed Tang not my first choice, Yellow is, but better suited to the tank?

Mandarin last to let the tank mature more.

I’ll also be adding corals as I find ones I like.

After I add the Goby I will start adding the cleaners and when algae appears toss in snails to eat it.

A couple of shrimp somewhere along the line.

A clam at the end.

TADA. A beautiful tank.:)

Looks good to me, but do yourself a favor and ditch the damsels. You will thank me later. Buy a yellow coris wrasse and a melanarus wrasse instead!

The tank is rimless and looks wonderful. If I get the wrasses it will need a top and look not as wonderful. On the other hand I have thought about a top and the wrasses, and other jumpers, opens up a wide range of other fish and I can take to top off and look at it and it will look just as wonderful and you said the damsels might be trouble but it looks so much nicer without a top but even fish that are not known for jumping can jump if they get spooked and I would hate to have one die but it looks so nice without a top maybe I could just leave it without fish to look nice.

Look at damsels in the genus Chrysiptera, they aren't as bad as other genera of damsels. Peaceful standouts within the genus includes arnazae, springeri, the kupang, and talboti. They won't be an issue with the chromis.

The gramma and the dottyback may fight, so add them simultaneously so they can stake out separate territories. Also, add them before the damsels.

Other than that, the order is fine. Just be alert to the clam, as flame angels can pick.

Yes, on the nipping thing, I even had a purple tang with a taste for clams. Killed a 7" maxima and 11" deresa before I figured out he was the culprit and caught him in the act! Not really relevant here I guess but a very interesting story, I thought. I removed a flame, flameback, and potters thinking they were the culprits. Nope.

I have decided on adding a top. I have the frome, from BRS built, and it does not look horrible.

Now I am off to look at replacing something with wrasses.
