Hi All,

Just set up my 180 three nights ago. Tank will be almost completely SPS. Left an open scape for good flow potential. Currently I have 2 MP40’s and two Jabeo PP-20’s. Plan on eventually ditching the PP20’s and doing either 2 Gyre 250’s or 2 more MP40’s.

For my current equipment what’s your thoughts on placement?

Also, what do you recommend I do in the future? Add two more MP40’s or two Gyres?

Thanks

The Island on the right I’d say 4-5”, island on the left about 3” but I’ll be moving that later today because I don’t like it’s placement

thats definitely enough flow, just have them all going at random times etc to get the most random but powerful flow you can get. it will take time and a decent amount of tuning.

on my 180, I only have 2 pp20s and a gyre 150 and I have plenty of flow.

I’m thinking about running the PP20’s on the sides and then the mp40’s on the back for now.

Gyres are a pain to clean for maintenance. Have 2 250’s on a 6’ long tank.

I think I’m going to go with 4 mp40’s all on the side slightly staggered to match the scape.

Have a friend with 4 mp60’s on his 360g. Gets crazy flow with them cranked way down. Made me think, my tank is exactly half the volume so 4 mp40’s should be plenty. Here’s his tank

I would do 2 Maxspect Gyre 250s along with rhe 2 MP40s you have. MP40s on the back wall and the Gyres on the sides.
