New Tank: Help identifying reddish growth frag

I placed these frags on new pieces of Marco Rock rubble and glued them to rockscape. I’m trying to determine what the orange or reddish discoloration is on the rubble pieces. Tank itself has been up for two months. No algae or discoloration anywhere on the rockscape so I am assuming the color is coming from coral frags? It has doubled in darkness in past 24 hours. Wondering if it’s maybe Cyano? Any advice is appreciated.

Hi Acanthodaddy,

By the looks of it, that is almost certainly Cyanobacteria and is completely normal in a new tank setup such as yours. Your rocks currently do not contain much life, however the coral frags do. That is why you are seeing this occur around the frags first. I would suggest not worrying about it unless it is persistently present in the tank after a month or two.

I’d say diatoms. Nothing to worry about.
