My dad just brought up maybe funding a 100 gallon tank in the basement. Of course this is one of the most exciting things I've ever heard. He saw how good my 45 gallon reef looks and thinks one would look good where we hang out. Immediately I started thinking of all the stocking possibilties. Here's what I've come to and I'm just wondering what y'all think.

Regal angel
3 lyre tail anthias
Yellow tang
Maroon pair
Christmas wrasse
Midas blenny
Bicolor goatfish
Multi bar angel(try)
What do you think?

Maroon clowns can be very aggressive, and a goatfish will outgrow that size tank.

There are a few species of wrasse that go by the common name Christmas wrasse. The Thalassoma species wouldn't be a good fit, the Halichoeres species vary in appropriateness.

Both the angels are difficult, but you are prepared for that.

Halichoeres genus "Christmas wrasse" tend to be more aggressive than other halichoeres.

Do you think one tang is all I could get?
I read that the Christmas Wrasse (Halichoeres claudia )
What is the most difficult part of a regal angel? My lfs has really small ones that eat pellets
I also liked magnificent foxface, harlequin tusk, bartletts anthias, red tail trigger, red coris wrasse, bird wrasse but haven't done research on any
I wanted a convict tang but idk if I can get two tangs in a 100 gallon and my dads only neccasery fish is the "yellow one" tang

Color is great on these fairy wrasse & they are peaceful:
  • 1 Solorensis, or clown fairy wrasse wrasse -male
  • 1 Orangeback fairy wrasse -male
Do you want any perching fish?
  • Flame Hawk has such personality.
How about:
  • 1 Sunburst Anthias OR have you checked out Dispars if you do 3 anthias? Bartletts can be somewhat aggressive/cranky. In my tank the other fish keep them in check, but my Bartletts try to dominate.

I'm not really a fan of fairy wrasses or anthias tbh sorry flame hawk possibly
