You can blow the surface of the sand with a turkey baster to keep it from building up. Sand turning CUC (clean-up-crew) like nassarius snails to keep the sand moving as well
I mean if you can occasionally move the surface of the sand you can keep it down quite a bit. Eventually it should be replaced by “good” algae on its own. You can suck it out during water changes as well. I wouldn’t worry about it otherwise though. It should resolve itself over time
