So I have a 150g tall, reef ready, dual overflow tank. I started filling it today and as the water rose and began to flow through weirs, I started to have a slight trickling into the sump from the drains AND returns BUT the overflows were only half filled... the only thing I can think of is water is slowly getting past the standpipes where they press into the bulkheads. Has this ever happened to any of you? And advice? I tried pushing them down a little harder but its still occurring...

The last corner overflow I had I glued the stand pipes in. I would say if they are just pushed in you would have some get by

If the bulkhead is in correct and the o-rings are lined up properly it shouldn't matter. shouldn't have to glue as the water that seeps by will be in the inside of the bulkhead fitting. Try making sure the o-rings are lined up and tightened correct.

Yes the water is seeping INTO the bulkheads

Where is yours seeping ?

Everything is connected. The water is seeping in between the pipe and into the bulkhead. That shouldn't happen. Once I stop running the pump, water will overflow into the sump a certain amount until the durso breaks siphon. In my situation, it will continue falling into the sump (very slowly) which could overflow the sump.

See, I was missing something . I understand what you are saying now. sorry . mine didn't leak. like that

If I were to hypothetically glue the pipes into the bulkheads, the problem would go away but thats not really the right way to do things.

Perhaps. Maybe once I add salt the denser water might have a harder time squeaking by. Its a long shot but ya never know.
