I’m switching to a new tank. A 55 gallon. We got the live rock from a guy who’s rocks have been in his tank for a year, they’re super established rock. I have a about 25 more pounds of rock in my current 13.5 gallon tank. When can I move my coral over? This is what I have:

Hammer
Frogspawn
6 kinds of zoas
Superman montipora
Orange montipora
Bubble tip anemone
Waving hand Xenia
A few mushrooms

What are you guy’s opinions?

We had to take down our reefer 250 at work and put it back up about 2 days later because of leveling issues.

What we did was take everything out fixed the leveling and put it back together

As for moving things over we stored all the sand with some water so the bacterial didn't die

We put the live rock in a styrofoam box with water along with the coral and some fish

We then rescaped the tank and out the sand back in, put all the coral back in, filled it again and added fish I think a week later

So yes it can be done it's just tedious

I don't see much point in waiting. Do you have the new lights yet?

I’m conflicted about the lights. I have an ai prime, I was thinking about getting another. Would 2 primes be good enough for a 55 corner? Most of the coral will be in the back of the tank. Here are the dimensions.

40.25" L x 30"W x 54" H

Update:

Moved everything over. Looks amazing.
