New Tank Needs Return Pump Help.

Hello everyone. I just got in my new Waterbox 100.3 and realized I have not ordered a return pump for this tank. What do I need to figure out what size GPH return pump I would need? I will be moving all my fish, coral and inverts over to this tank overtime. It will have a decent size bio load. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I use a nyos viper 5.0 I purchased thru waterbox. The included adaptors hook right up to the provided return plumbing hose, I believe I've read it's metric. You flow is adjusted by the gate valve to keep it silent. Look into their recommended flow rates a viper 3.0 might be enough

Just make sure your overflow box can keep up with the return pump. Ex. If your overflow box only moves 500 gph and your return pump moves 1000 gph all the water will be pumped out of your sump before it can be refilled by the overflow. With that being said your still going to want a return pump that can push a bit more than what your overflow box moves because of head pressure. if the pump is rated at 1000 gph its probably going to be knocked down to around 700 (that's a rough guess) because of head pressure. Head pressure(gravity) is the pressure the water is going to be pushing back down on the pump since its pushing the water UP to the tank. also you can put a gate valve to slow the flow of water from your return pump if its pumping too much water out, its best to get it as close as you can without having to use a gate valve because that will compromise the longevity of your pump.
