New tank nitrates 10.5

Is nitrates 10.5 a problem? My tanks been running about 6 weeks now and the nitrates been climbing over the last few days.
Can over feeding cause this. The wife overfeed on Friday.

Alk- 8.3
Ph- 8
Nitrate- 10.5
Phos- .1
 
Here at our farm we keep our nitrates around 10 to 15. You definitely want to keep an eye on them if they are climbing quickly. Over feeding can definitely cause them to jump up. If you see they won't stop going up make sure you are doing water changed regularly and try to cut back on the amount you are feeding. Be careful with coral foods like reef roids and that can also spike up your nitrates and phosphates.
 
You're fine. Practice keeping it there for a long period, say 6 months. If you feel things could be better try lowering it by any number of options.
