New tank, old sump

Just bought an Oceanic 90 gallon now front. heck of a deal on it. Tank, stand, top and dump. $100. It needs some work and the sump is an old bio ball one. Just 2 chambers.

It doesn't have a sock. No chambers for bubble elimination or for water scrubber. What do I need to look for in a new dump? I dont even know how to use this one. 2 hoses on one side and nothing out. The tank has 2 holes in the overflow on left side in the glass on the bottom of tank. No bulkheads either. I'm thinking of going with pipe instead of hose. Maybe a small section of hose at pump output to keep vibration down.

I wouldn't use that sump. It's would be difficult to convert, as it looks that the previous owner attempted to do.

Depending on the area that the sump would sit, I would measure how much space you have to work with and buy a tank to convert to a sump.

The holes at the bottom of the DT tank could have been meant to have a drain and a return that would come up the bottom to the top of the tank.

Yes I believe it is meant for a supply and return. It has an overflow in which these holes are in the bottom of. One is different size than the other. No bulkheads. I need bulkheads to. Keeping the tank for sure.
