My wife and I are new form members and new to salt water aquariums. We just purchased our first setup at the advise of the store owner. Hoping to get some feedback on the build products and there is something we should do different or have missed. Our daughter wants a "Nimo" but our plan is used as mixed use tank.

- Reefer 250 Tank / Stand
- 2X Ecotech XR 15 Blue 105W with stands
-1 Red Sea Reefwave 25 Pump
- Red Sea Skimmer 300
- Neptune COR-20 pump 2000 GPH
- Eheim Jager 200W heater
- Neptune ATO ATK V2 / Trigger System ATO Tank
- Neptune Apex Controller
- Neptune DOS System
- Salt, rock, testing stuff, etc.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

That all looks good. Nemo is very common to be a first fish. I recommend to stay away from the maroon ones. They can be really mean and nasty. They love to bite the hands that feed them. I have a caramel one and he is super chill and nice. Look at LiveAquaria. They are pretty spot on for peaceful and aggressive ratings. Good luck and we look forward to a build thread with tons of pics!

if you only plan to have 1 clown fish cool but if you want a pair buy them together because adding later may present an issue when the established one doesn't take well to the new addition but welcome to the time and money pit haha

I'll welcome you with a piece of advice, research the fish before you but. When you come home with a cute little vlamingi tang and find out it gets as big as a dinner plate it poses a small problem

Thanks all, great advice on livestock. Tank is ordered but a week out, so I have some time on to sort out my livestock plan.

I do have a small window to make adjustments to the build, any recommendations on the gear I bought? Anything I didn't think of?

Welcome Johnmac, I'm still on a steep learning curve, lots of patience and research needed, Rome was nt built in a day. Good luck

Welcome to the hobby, get ready for some major wallet bleeding and trips to the LFS behind wife's back LOL.
You can definitely fulfill your duaghter's wish to house "Nimo" while still fill the tank with mix! well just not the whole crew from the Nemo tank in the movie.
