My tank is a 75 gal with 40 gallon fuge and around 65 pounds of reef saver rock and live rock I used to help seed. I have an RO/DI that I used to fill the tank with. It has been running for about 3-4 weeks now my parameters are:
pH 8.2
Salinity 1.026
Temp 79°
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 1
Nitrate 40

I went with a fishless cycle and was just curious if I'm on the right track and getting pretty close to the end of my cycle? I threw a COC of 12 snails in 3 days ago and they are all doing well. Any advice on the my next steps I should take would be helpful. Thanks!

You need to wait til the Nitrites are 0, you can do a 25% water change at that point, and your ready for fish.

Nitrites are finally 0 ammonia 0 nitrates 40. Starting to get a little diatom bloom hopefully that doesn't last long. Eventually I want to do coral but I'm going to wait a couple more months for that. Start off with some reef safe fish. I want lots of color. Any suggestions on a good first fish? I really like anthias. I want a mandarin goby eventually as well but once again will wait until my tank is more established.
