New tank question

im setting up a 40gal saltwater tank and was going to use some sand, rock, and bio filter media from my 220gal FOWLR along with 40gals of that tanks water.

Is it safe to assume the tank won’t go through a cycle if I do it that way? I’m thinking it won’t but I’m not sure.

A mini cycle if anything. The new filter media will have to get seeded. I would toss in the rock and some food and test. It shouldn't take more than a week honestly.
