Hi Reef2Reef,
I'm in the process of settling into a new home and getting ready to set up a reef tank. I've been reef keeping for about 15 years, with a short hiatus the past three. Curious what the community thinks are the best options out there right now for a new display tank and stand. Currently I'm leaning toward an 80 gallon from SCA (32"x24"x24") and the matching wood stand they manufacture.
Some specifics about what I'm looking for:

Some specifics about what I'm looking for:
- The tank will initially be a mixed reef with gradually increasing sps dominance as it matures over the next few years.
- I'm limited to a ~36"x24" total footprint where the tank will be in my office.
- Definitely want a rimless tank, and preferably cube(oid) in shape with plenty of depth for aquascaping.
- Looking for an integrated stand, but not a sump. I plan on making my own sump from acrylic for space efficiency as the whole unit will be self contained and I need to pack a LOT of functionality inside.
- Budget is ~$1,000 for tank/stand, but I could go higher if there was a compelling reason, e.g. a package deal.
- I prefer the look of clear silicone, but it seems the industry has gone 100% black silicone over the past few years. I know algae can be an issue, but the "cube of water" look is just so pleasing. Which brings me to...
- Glass vs. acrylic? Leaning glass, but I'm aware of the pros/cons and would be willing to go the acrylic route if it made sense given my other constraints.
