New tank rock choice advice

Hey all! Im sorry if there is already a post on this (probably a few), but I wanted to get some current opinions as my tank is in in construction and launch is, hopefully, soon. The tank will be 20.5 inches long, 18.5 inches wide x 18 inches deep. I will plumb to a 14 gallon sump. It has been 15 years since I sold my fish and coral and tore down my 75 gallon reef tank. One of the neat things that has changed is man-made reef rock. What are your opinions about manufacturers and kinds? I really don't want to spend $7.50 per pound and up. Ideas? Are there any major cons to this type of rock. Obviously the tank is small. I plan to house softies, a few LPS and a fish or two.

And I thought the hobby was expensive 15 years ago! Umm yeah. THANK YOU in advance...
