What kind of fish will you have? They all need hiding places regardless of their size. Minimalist aquascape are cool with the right corals but don’t always address fish and CUC needs.

If you want a more natural look, you'll want to vary the spaces between rocks.

Debating on an eel tank or a goby tank all of the rock has holes for hiding spots for either species these rocks were just to start the tank would you get more larger pieces or a lot of smaller pieces

I would build a structure out of them with caves and holes throughout. More caves the better. Gives hiding places in case of aggression.

I would get medium to small size pieces and also some flat shelf rock.

You just need way more. Think at least a pound per gallon or so.

Ya this is 37 pounds and the tank is 55 I didn't find any other pieces I liked at the shop I went to

Be careful with your tank placement too. I can't really tell from the photo but too close to a window can also be problematic.

I have a background I haven't put on quite yet so I don't get as much sun for algae prevention the blinds on that window are always down and it's on the back of the house
