Hi Guys, Just joined your forum and I live in the UK. I have had a 125 litre tank, which I bought as a mature set up with a few fish and a couple of shrimps, for about a year. Decided I would treat myself and have just bought an Aquaone 275 with a sump. Have the whole set up running with freshly mixed salt water, Miracle mud topped off with coral sand in the sump with broken live rock in the first chamber.Good handfull of Chaeto, which i just put in last night, and 10 mangrove seeds approx 10 inches to go in tonight and a protein skimmer (not turned on yet). About 10 kilos live rock in the main tank. HELP! now what do I do?

Good morning Jim and welcome to r2r. At this time you have to let the tank cycle. Grab some test kits and when everything reads fine, alk, nitrates, nitrites, ammonia etc.... Which should probably be in a couple of weeks you could start adding fish. Be patient and have fun. God bless

Hello Jim and welcome to r2r :welcome: Good advice given above. Do you know what you want to do with this tank, do a fowlr or do you want to do a reef setup?

What type of lighting do you have going for this setup?

Welcome! Good luck with your new set up. Remember to take it slow, read and ask lots of questions.

Hey Jim welcome to R2R. Good advice so far and those T5's are pretty solid lights dont run them too much off the start i've found it helps grow a bit of coraline algae if you keep the lights on for shorter periods of time in the beginning is my only advice. Other than that good luck and hope to see some pics soon =)
