I'm moving my tank but I have decided to buy a new one to move everything to. I'm going to put in a new sand bed but was looking for some opinions (not hard to get here) lol. The tank has been going for about 18 months and I was wondering if I should put in dry sand or live sand or a maybe a mix? I also plan to fill the tank with new saltwater.

that is a perfect step by step prep. Even though thats an invasion work thread, changing or adding a sandbed is the same as listed. Cleaning the live rock with saltwater to clear out waste is refreshing for a reef, and then you wind up with bright new sand. Whichever kind you buy, only pre rinsing all of them matters, we showed there. You can even add new rocks, blend setups if you’ll apply each step it works across tanks. Each step is designed so you won’t crash the setup.

Dry sand, wash it first. Live sand from a running system is a posibility but may have nastys , live sand in the bags have organics to break down. And is only suteable if you are going to wait out the cycling process. Bare bottem. Is just fine to hold your coral and rock however some dont like the look
