So i just started a new tank about a week ago. It is a 20 gallon cube with a 30 gallon refuge. I have about 15lbs of uncured rock in there and I also use tap water. I have not added any live sand as i plan on adding them 2m. The 20 gallon cube itself will be bare bottom with no rock in it. All of my rock and live sand will be in the refuge. My question is how long do i have to wait until i am able to put a fish and coral in the tank?

Everyones tank is a little different and you will hear different time frames for cycle-time. But, adding livestock should be guided by your water test resultsts. Also you may want to look into an RO/DI unit or to a place to purchase water. In my experience tap water always spells trouble.

+1 to what sleeper said

rough estimate:
Cycle will take 20-30 days
if parameters are stable( no ammonia, nitrite, low nitrates) then you can add cleanup crew after that. Very slowly
I'd say another month before you'd add fish, 1 at a time.

Depends on how established the bacteria is in your rock and how much dead tissue is on it now.

Was rock completely dry when you got it?
