New tank stand placement

Have a question for the group. I’m building a new stand for my 150 tank. Now should I put plywood on the bottom of the stand or just place it on the rug to cover the placement of the stand? Help info ASAP this project is about to start tomorrow

A soaking rug will have to air dry with fans blowing on it

So you think just deal up a nice piece and put it right over the rug. Or I just thought about this. Maybe I grab a sheet of pvc and use that as my base

Im confused exactly what you are trying to say. And my answer will also e just as hard to understand probably, lol. This is difficult to describe...

But, dont have the plywood bottom sitting flat/directly on the carpet/rug. You need a little air space between the stand bottom and the floor to allow air flow to help dry out water spills and stop mold from occurring.

I put down 2x2 sleepers, topped with 1/2" ply, then covered it with Tyvek roofing underlayment to catch random spills.
