Good day everyone,

I am new to the forum but not new to the hobby. Long story short I have been out for a few years now after my last tank disaster.

I have come across a 130 gal tank and I have the go ahead from management to start another tank.

I have been looking at some of the newer topics out there and I am wondering if anyone on here has had success with the triton method coupled with a fuge and chaeto as a start up.

I live in northwestern Ontario and my access to reef supplies is limited but I think that this method would work well for me. If it works at all.

Any info anyone has would be helpful.

Thanks again

Where in Ontario?? And no reason why you can't start with triton off the hop, I wouldn't start using there additives until you have a real reason to do so but cheato off the start is always good. I would add after your cycle obviously. Oh and if you are looking at starting with triton specifically I would watch online stock like a hawk, triton has had notorious stocking issues ever since there milk carton production blunder and things sell out SUPER quick. I believe the last shipment lasted only a few hours.

I am in Thunder Bay just north of the Minnesota border. There is only one local shop that has any thing saltwater and PetSmart that carries some salt and something other basic supplies.

I have about 50lbs if live rock curing now and I will be adding up to 75lbs if macrorock once I start the tank. I am still in the planning stage and slowly picking things up for it I just want to make sure I do this one right from the start and given my lack of access to stuff I was thinking this method seems pretty simple to do which is going to be my best bet.
