Im in the process of building a new 350 gal. It's a 90" long tank. Looking for some input to see if this tang list will be problem. All these fish will be qt'd and added at the same time into the new tank. @4FordFamily maybe you can give input with you tang experience.

Powder blue
Achilles
Yellow mimic (chocolate)
Hippo
Sailfin
Powder brown
Possibly even a naso but that's my least likely.

Any issues with 7 in a 350 gal added together?
Of course other small unrelated fish

It’s always a risk but I don’t think you’ll have any issues since you’re adding 3 acanthurus of same shape within that genus concurrently. I’d recommend that the PBT be the smallest of the bunch. Buy them 3.5-4 inches, preferably. Powder brown can be hardy a bit smaller, around 3”.

Sailfin and naso should be larger than any of them by a good .5 to 1 inch. They can neutralize smaller aggressive tangs by becoming default tank boss based on size. Naso are best suited of your list for this job. Dual scalpel, large size and intimidating, but docile. Sailfin are docile for a zebrasoma tang but CAN be aggressive on occasion. I’d still rather have a sailfin tank boss, even a nasty one, over any of your acanthurus tangs except perhaps the chocolate.

I know it's always a risk. I was hoping that being introduced together would be a big advantage. I know it would never work 1 at a time. So you think odds are in my favor? I will have plenty of rockwork

Any update? I'm trying to choose a bunch of tangs for a new 210 I'm setting up. I'm looking at adding the following:

Naso
Powder Blue
Mimic
Sailfin (Desjardini)
Orange Shoulder
