So I am thinking about getting a new tank, I have a biocube 14 right now (7 months old). and I feel that I am ready to move up in the world. Thinking about a 45 gallon. Any suggestions on lights or filtration?

SB Reef Lights. Great range of options: simple to wifi units. Great quality for the buck. Serious power if you turn them all the way up. Way more than you will probably need.

Addition: I have a $500 price range for initial setup (tank, lights, filtration, etc). I would plan on moving my current stock into the new tank..would only need more sand, live rocks, and water as far as the inside.

If you are going with a sump, you might think of a protein skimmer. With a 45 gallon system, you can do nutrient export by water changes. But a protein skimmer is a nice supplement. You want one with pretty fine control on adjustment. My skimmer seems to be very sensitive to even minor adjustments.

Cool thanks for all the suggestions!! Now that I have started a saltwater tank, I see what I want to do differently and understanding how everything works. Definitely want more tank space and corals! And I would love a carpet for my clowns.
