Everything was transferred from another tank over. Only thing replaced was sand. All was good then tank went cloudy. I find myself scraping the glass about 12x a day. Skimmer is doing its job, but what has me confused is when the light go out and I wake up in the morning and light come back on tank is crystal clear until lights come on. About a hour after lights being on, cloudy all over again.

How long has the tank been up? I see you have n2 pockets in your sand. Could be a mini cycle.
I had a decent algae bloom when my nitrates started ramping up and I put it down to lighting. In saying that, it kinda sped up the cycle too.

Been set up for 2 weeks. This just started 2 days ago. Driving me crazy!

Yeah mate that's my (non) expert opinion.
Your nitrates have ramped up and are likely on their way down.
You could try one of those fancy nitrate removing medias or potions. Check phosphate too they like that and you have a fair amount of feeding going on with all those fish.

To me there's 2 options:
1. If you like algae, you can watch until it stops GROWING - likely exhausting all the n2 and pho. Remove it manually and do a decent WC and you're away laughing.
2. If you're ocd like the rest of us, test nitrate and phosphate and buy whatever at whatever cost to chase those numbers!

Nice tank btw

I'm having the same issue... cleaning glass about every hour it seems. So you're saying to just let it grow out, then scrape, then like a 50% water change?

Check your parameters first, a big WC might stunt your cycle. If not cycling, youll at least have an idea of what's causing the bloom

Parameters are all good.

PH = 8.1
Ammonia = 0
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 0
Alk = 11
Ca = 430
Mg = 1230

It's all cycled and about 2.5 months old. Cycle happened around week 1.5 and had another mini cycle around 3 weeks in. It's been consistent since then. I've tested the water 3 times since it's been cloudy and everything looks fantastic. All my corals are thriving and growing.

Here's a shot of the cloudy water after cleaning the algae off the glass... for the 100th time today.

When I added a tank to my system it got new tank uglies even though it had old rock and water running through it. Just needs to build up on the new surfaces and it will go away. I say leave it be for a few days to a week without scraping or doing anything, then scrape and a 20% WC.

Awesome! Sounds good. I'll try that.
