New tank uglies on QT

I may have made a mistaken on not done water changes while fish have been in QT for 5 weeks. Two days ago I noticed a green tinge in the water so I started making new salt water to do a 100% change. I have matched the salinity and will match the copper once I change the water, don't want to contaminate my reserve Brute can with copper.

Any suggestions or anything I may have missed for this process or for the future would be appreciated.

You probably don’t have to do 100%, but a water change is ideal. As salt water is depleted of the chemicals we want for corals it changes in color. New water will be blue, while old water is green as you see. It won’t hurt the fish, that I have ever come across or noticed in my tanks.

Match your PH as well as close as you can.

Thanks for the info I didn't think about matching pH. Glad the tank and new water were close because I would have been at a loss as to how to change it.
