I have been in the hobby for almost 20 years. Twice during this time I completely shut down my tank for a less than a year because I had issues with the tank and it had became a source of frustration rather than fun.
The most recent reboot started about 4 months ago so I have a relatively empty tank with a few dozen small frags. This is a big contrast to my previous tank full of mature colonies that I had grown from frags. While the old tank was beautiful, there is a certain appeal to having a blank slate again with lots of space to try new things.
