New tank water !

Hey reefers. I just started my water in my tank and it has cleared up but there is still a greenish discoloration. Is this normal? And what should I do.

No. The water shouldn't be green.

Is there rock in your tank too?

Did you use RO/DI water?

There is rock and sand in the tank and yes it is RODI water. It's not a crazy green but it's a green tint. I'm guess when I put the microbe lift special blend dose ( helps start the cycle) it will clear up.

Are you running a skimmer?

Sounds like you're doing everything right.

No I do not have a skimmer yet. Maybe when I get the skimmer it will take care of it also

If you just have rock in your tank - I would keep the lights off for two or three days. That will limit an algae growth.
