New Tank- Waterbox Freshwater?

Just wanted to post this to see if I'm missing something. Hopefully someone has seen these tanks in person, I'll be ordering blind and there isn't much on the web. Would love to know how they look in person.

background: I have a 40 Breeder that I built a stand for. I love the stand, beginning to dislike the tank (mainly due to the rim and I want to run BB but there's an unsightly brace down the middle of the bottom).

My stand measures 36x20. Most prebuilt tanks are 36x24 or 36x18. I was looking at a custom glasscages until I found the waterbox clear 3620. Exact specs I want, 36x20x18! Downfall is that they aren't drilled and have clear silicone. But the cost savings are massive!

Local dealer will drill it for me for free if I order through them, score! (My drilling is sloppy so I'd rather someone else do it! Haha)

Anyhow, the 3620 is listed as a freshwater tank so just wanted to verify. Anyone see any reason why it wouldn't make a good reef tank, once drilled with an eshopps overflow on it?

Money is money. If it is the dimensions you want and you can have your LFS drill it for no cost...... PSSST I'd be all over that and spend the saved money on Corals!! lol Just my $.02

Just making sure that there wasn't something about a "freshwater" tank that would make in unsuitable for a reef aquarium. I tend to think a glass box is a glass box.

I'm thinking in this case, freshwater just means "not drilled".

Money saved will be put towards a new sump. Current sump is just a baffle kit in a 20L.

You're right, it's just them saying it's not drilled or "reef ready". It's perfectly acceptable to use as a SW tank. Just confirm the glass isn't tempered and they can drill it no problem.

Already did that. Thank you! And all sides are high clarity vs only 3 from the custom tank (though I think I'll still be painting the back black).
