New tank, what shall I do besides SPS.

Ive been working on downsizing my tank and im almost there...I was just going to go move my sps collection over, from my current tank, and just allow it to grow...but after 2 years of having the sps (I have had SPS for many years before this tank as well) something catastrophic has happened and my sps are all dying, for no clear reason...parameters are fine and nothing has changed...it's kind of just a mystery, but i do know it happens occasionally.

So im just thinking I want to go another route with the new tank, with "coral", that tends to be a little less sensitive...but all I really know is sps...I was thinking maybe a full zoa tank, but maybe im missing something else that might be a little less sensitive and fairly colorful and cool.

Id love to hear some ideas...

Since seeing some recent really nice mixed reefs I think a nice mix of leathers, zoas, and acans can really fill in a tank nicely. The leathers give some movement while the softies cover the bare rock. It's a weird thing when a tank matures enough that the fish are no longer the focal point for people that don't "know fish tanks".

Yeah...I will still have fish and they are really the only thing that people notice, that arent into aquariums...

Mixed reefs are the way to go so you have the best of both worlds.

I LOVE sun corals...have a few right now that are doing fine and some nice dendros...I was throwing aroind the idea of just different variations of sun corals and dendros...but then thought azoox tank with automated feeding, but ive been reading they can handle a bit "dirtier" water then SPS, but still seem touchy...

I think every tank needs a chalice or six.
