So I ordered my new tank and my expectations have not been met. Ordered a custom cabinet and tank 60X30X30 with 1-1/4" drains and 1" returns. First, the stand came in with the wrong stain, so that had to be taken back and be redone. Once I checked the tank, the drains were 1" so I asked for them to redo which they did to 1-1/2" size and added PVC to the drain hole :(. On delivery day, I noticed that the returns were also wrong and at 3/4". I have gone back and forth with the manager of the store that I ordered the tank from and he insists that this is the way it should be. At this time, I received the stand but the tank was taken back.

I ordered the tank with specif requirements. What would you do?

If you were specific with what you wanted and committed to pay for, and the store isn't delivering, don't accept the tank. When you say you wanted 1" returns and they gave you a tank with 3/4", are you going off the size of the hole? Maybe they got confused and thought you wanted 1" holes drilled, although a 1" hole is too small for a 3/4" return anyway.

If you gave them a deposit, be careful.

If everything you stated above is not clearly in writing as part of your order, you could lose the deposit. If it is all 100% clear and in your "written" agreement/order, you should be able to get your deposit back. Depending on the integrity of this particular business, it might take small claims court to do so.

Did you sign a contract or agreement stating what was to be done? Did you both get a copy of this? It can be something as simple as a receipt with everything broken down on it.

If you have documentation refer to it. If not... then ... keep things civil and work with them.

I ordered with the term 1" returns, not 1" holes. The tank and stand were prepaid during a sale day they were having, and I also paid the delivery charge the day before they tried to deliver. I cannot locate a copy of the sales order, only the receipt, they cannot locate the order request from what I can tell. I'm going to check my emails to see if any have this information on it.
I do remember the manager entering all of the detailed information on their point of sale when I paid for the order, but now they are saying is not there.
