Hello everyone ,
First thank you for taking your time and reading this thread .I’m going to be as detailed as I can ,so I hope you can bear with me. I have recently built a tank diy the whole thing. Got a 20 gallon tank cut some acrylic , converted it to an aio tank.

I bought some live rocks to speed up the cycling process and ran my tank for couple of weeks more or less. Got too excited and and got some fish and 3 hermit crabs and snails.... I over stocked my tank “big mistake“ , and to make it worse I got one of the hardest fish to take care of “ mandarin“ after being recommend by fish store.By that time I had 2 mandarin one clown fish and cardinalfish. after a week of stress trying to get the mandarin to eat one of them died. I tried everything but the other mandarin didn’t eat and died after another week. Mean while all of this was happening one day I noticed ich in the tank after the heater turned of when I was asleep and the temperature was 22 C . It went away after couple of days ... but not for so long , a week later the clownfish was covered in white dots. By that time I wasn’t sure if it was ich or velvet. The other fish had it too unfortunately.

I don’t have a quarantine tank , I couldn’t put them somewhere else and treat them . Next day the cardinalfish died .. I got a cleane shrimp hoping it help or anything until I build a 10 gallon tank I had laying around but the clownfish died the day after.

now it has been a week there is no fish in the tank just 2 hermit crabs , 4 of snails and cleaner shrimp. The tank is a month and a half old . I’m not going to add fish for 76 days hoping whatever killed the fish will die off .
green algae is covering the rocks for three weeks now with some bits of coralline algae. I have what I think might be copepods in the tank , a lot of them not sure if that’s a good thing.

Im not sure what can I do now , is it okay to add corals something like blastomussa or zoanthids or should I wait? If I can should I build a quarantine tank first and put them there or will dipping them be enough. And how do I get rid of the green algae ?
my tanks parameters are 0.02 ammonia, 0.02 nitrite (0.02 is the lowest measurement in the kit I’m using) the nitrates is 5 and the phosphate is 0.2, I’m going to try lowering the phosphate level with water change . If that didn’t work I’ll try some phosphate absorber.

while I was writing this one of the hermit crabs died he kept fight and taking the other crabs shell for a while he killed one and fight with the other one multiple times and kicked him out of his shell. I’m not sure what’s wrong ..

sorry for the long post and hope you guy’s can help.. thanks for your time ❤
note:I have been using petg 3d printed parts I’m not sure if that could harm or cause problem.

I would keep the tank fallow for the 76 days. Keep the tank running and feed a bit for the crab and shrimp. Also if algae is taking over kill the lights for a while. Great work on making your tank AIO. It looks professionally done.

Definitely do your own research before buying fish. Those mandarins never had a chance.

You tank seems to still be cycling, don't add any Corals or fish for a bit. Patience is key!

Clown in pic . . either velvet or crypto.
First mistake. . . you used the word " Speed up the cycle". Nothing goes fast or well when in a hurry in this hobby.
IMPULSE got the best of you- Mandarins as you stated you know were not the best choice for new tank. .. that has to be accepted. SHAME ON THE LFS FOR NOT ASKING QUESTIONS AND SELLING THEM TO YOU ASSUMING THEY NEW IT WAS A NEWER TANK.
76-80 days is a good choice and I would utilize the time gone by to research deeper into husbandry, create a wish list. You CAN add a shrimp and/or blue leg hermit to have something to look at and enjoy. Adding a mysis shrimp here and there for them to eat will also assist you with continbued cycling and practice for water testing.

You could add some hardy soft corals after a month and what seems to be a tank beginning to process ammonia. A little macro algae would take care of nutrients, but I don't think they are too high, just give it some more time.
I can't keep a testable level of phosphate in my tank, am dosing reef roids twice as much to try to get to at least 0.05. Xenia and even gsp stopped growing when PO4 went undetectable.

I will do that thanks

That’s very true I’m definitely not going to depend on the seller and do my research that’s why I’m asking and researching I don’t want to do the same mistake again. Is there a way to know that my tank is suitable for corals?

Double what @vetteguy53081 said about the LFS. Shame on them. I'd take what they say with a grain of salt from now on.
Unfortunately I realized that most fish stores here only care about selling . I recently saw one of the fish stores selling turtles claiming that they don’t need anything other than food no heater no filter nothing just a small plastic box with some food .

You can reduce the fallow period a bit by raising the water temperature to 27.5 C. As mentioned, reducing the lights now, since you don't have corals, will limit algae growth. Remember, if you do start to add some soft corals, if they come from a dealer's tanks that has fish in them, they could bring something with them, increasing your fallow period.

won’t increasing the temperature harm the invertebrates ? Yeah that’s why I was wondering when will I be able to add corals because if I did I think I should restart the 76 day’s if I’m not mistaken
