I knew it was supposed to be near the 1.020-1.025 range but didn’t know if less was a huge problem or not but thank youideal salinity is 1.026 which is the same as the ocean, but this is easily found with google.
If your salinity is 1.015 and you don't know where its supposed to be, then honestly you should do a lot more reading and research before proceeding any further in this hobby.
Don’t have any fish yet and to be honest don’t plan on it for at least a month or maybe more due to things like this. I’ve been reading a lot and this was just a topic that I was a little confused on and wanted more informationI can't agree more with @Mr. Mojo Rising BUTTTT, if your tank is up and running, start reading, a lot. You need to increase your salinity to 1.026. I would do it immediately. IF you have fish in your system, take them out while you introduce more salt. You'll have to acclimate them once your sg is up.
Ok - get your sg up to where you want it. How are you measuring your salinity? A hydrometer? Or refractometer?Don’t have any fish yet and to be honest don’t plan on it for at least a month or maybe more due to things like this.
