I have a new 180l tank recently added live rock, looking for advice on what fish are the best and safest to introduce initially. Cheers

Don't start off with tangs, can cause a ich outbreak. Start with something nice and simple a pair of clown or two. Then maybe a school of chromis, and some easier fish. For introducing the fish I would QT all fish, and if you can't a acclimation box if you can't get that Dr foster has some nice acclamation tubes that you can just drip acclimate. Also make sure you have a protien skimmer proper lighting if you are doing corals, a heat, power heads, and RODI water.

Have most if that apart from the protein skimmer (one on order) bit worried about a build up on my rock though and unsure what if might be

It could be a cycle but I'm not sure with the photo. Do you have a sump? How long has the tank been setup for. Have you been testing your water for ammonia etc

Yes all seems fine, salinity etc been maturing with pure RO now for 4 weeks, did a test tonight and ph is very high

I just finish bringing a whole 29 gallon into a 75 in one day first thing I notice was PH. If you can get that lowered and you think you are ready go to a LFS and get some snails and a hermit crab. Should get rid of some algae if you have any.

High pH: Causes and Cures by Randy Holmes-Farley - Reefkeeping.comse vinegar or soda water

Thanks for your help everything else seems balanced not wanting to introduce fish until it's all settled

Don't have all my rock yet either, currently have 10k should probably have 20k this might be effecting my ph
