First that stand scares me... There needs to be two things done to it.. You need Support studs under that top (Jack studs) One one on each of the 4 corner post.. between the top of the bottom platform and the bottom of the top.... This way you are not allowing the screws only to hold up the tank.. Two run a cross brace on the back and sides.. SAY FROM The back bottom left to the top Right.. and the same on each side...... Cheapest way to get it Structural sound..

I suggest you start with a fowlr tank Fish Only With Live Rock.. You can start slow and work you way up.. Also that skimmer you have in there is not much more then a bubble maker...

Great work so far Looking to see more and always here to help

What are your plans for your tank ideas for instance: what are you running for filtration ?how long has your tank been up also what are your lighting plans ? Are you going to add more rock ? Are you going to do coral mixed reef or only fish ? Just wondering because I would like to fallow your progress.

Yes I am going to add more rock. It been up and going for three weeks. Just starting off with what I can afford. It’s going to be a while before I put corals in. I want to establish and mature the tank before I do that. Fish only for now corals a year from now. Got to get back in the habit of taking care of one.

Erica[/QUoted]. Will do. I figured that will work on that. Fowlr is what I’m going to do until I learn to tank care of a tank again. I won’t add coral to the tank for about a year or so. I want a healthy mature tank before I do that. I’m doing a lot of research first. I know that’s a cheap skimmer. That’s what I could afford at this time. I got to save money for better equipment.

Also I took out the “bubble maker”(lol) out and use the pump as a power head for the time being.

Little by little you can make that tank stand up. You have some experience from the past so that will help with your new setup. Also, I see you are running a canister filter, nothing wrong with that but a good weekly or by weekly cleanup will keep Nitrates down. Good job fixing you stand. Keep posting your progress.

Thx. I most certainly will. Waiting for the cycle to finish and do a water change.

Also I created more room to add a sump/refuge under the tank. I can fit a 5 gallon bucket in between the front and back center supports.

Also look for HOB overflow, at least 20-30 gal sump/refuge, and return pump. It’s for an 90gal build.

Soon I will be building a 20 gallon long sump for my aquarium I’ll post it when I’m done with the build.
