i have a 72x20x30 tank, I can’t stand the height. I need to use a ladder and get soaked whenever I do anything in the tank. Im thinking of selling it and getting a custom tank made by reef savvy, same dimensions but only 22-24 tall w/no canopy. How would I pull this off without losing anything? Get huge bins and hold everything? Anyone else regret getting a tall tank? Also how do you deal with the lights without a canopy, is it much of an issue?

I moved a 400g a hour and a half away into a new 700g. Put all my rock in bins with water, hundreds of coral all in bins, and all my fish in multiple buckets. You have it easy as you’re not moving a hour. Get yourself a big Rubbermaid trough / pond tub. Get water in there or empty the current tank water. Take your rock and fish and toss it in there. If you need to keep it like this for a few days remember circulation and heat. Your corals will be fine without light for a few days if you don’t want to mess with it.

Once the tanks in and filled make sure salinity is good and temp. Then get your rock all in and fish. Ez pz

I have a 30” deep tank. I know what you’re saying. I’m 6’5” and reaching the bottom if I need to can be a pain lol. No way I’m reaching the back even with my gangly arms.

As for the canopy you can do a floating one above it. Hang the lights from the ceiling and make a decorative case / trim around the lights.
